  Changes to prophecy

  the search feature is not easy to find things so i'll start a new topic.. the july 2022 w had this picture.. .

  note that they say satan and his demons were cast out of heaven, about 1914. their math is getting fuzzier.. and there was a recent topic on here about the 1000 year reign.

  Despite the orgs claims that the end is closer than ever, the reality is that time is their friend.

  It's already been 28 years since the generation change of 1995. A jw would have to be almost 40 years old to remember the original doctrine of the 1914 generation with any significance.

  This seemingly insignificant editing of how they describe the events of 1914, using the word 'about', seems logical as they will have to gradually move away from the whole generation thing eventually. The gb know it will take decades.

  The study of DNA is a huge topic and to suggest that any untrained person fully understands the whole story after watching a video for a few minutes is ridiculous.

  All of us ingest plant and animal dna, and sometimes human DNA when we eat. The body has methods to ensure that this DNA is broken down and can't cause any problems.

  This is the short answer. I'm not an expert. From what I understand of this video, the professor was bringing attention to the need for scrutiny concerning regulations.

  Because it is the opinion of one person. He hasnt published a peer reviewed article and stated that he is just making people aware of a few things he found interesting for now. He said that his findings will probably amount to nothing and cause little to no risk.

  If you approach JW's standing next to a cart, dont expect them to defend their faith or discuss any bible doctrine. They just point to jw.org and tell you that they dont debate.

  They dont want to talk about their beliefs and they are incapable of having an open, honest conversation. They have turned into drones.

  Nevertheless, even if governments try to legislate only mandatory shunning, it is still going to be difficult to put it in law and choose the right wording.

  From what Ive read, if a religious group shuns an individual, because it is their belief, it is somewhat protected by law. As JW org is an American religion, JW;s have often hid behind the first amendment in the U.S. The question is, do the rights of the group override the rights of the individual being shunned?

  My opinion is that organised shunning should be illegal. In a group setting, if someone f%ks up really badly and hurts people (pedophilia, murder, assault etc), it is absolutely the right of anyone affected to treat that person however they want to. In fact , no one has to like or dislike anyone for whatever reason.

  But to tell a whole group how they should feel and act toward someone is cruel to the individual and actually disrespects the intelligence and rights of the group too. But thats what you would expect from the borg.

  Up until this court case, this guy was probably classed as a shining example of transforming from a lion into a lamb.

  Sign of the Last Days

  in the sermon on the mount, jesus foretold that earthquakes “in one place after another” would be part of the sign of the last days clímaxing in the great tribulation.. what could jesus possibly have meant?

  using a phone app nowadays, there are earthquakes detected in one place after another but is this what jesus meant and did they have so many earthquakes throughout the centuries affter his prophecy or are these modern day detected earthquakes unique to this epoch?

  how can we be sure unequivocally that modern day earthquakes are part of the sign fulfilling bible prophecy?.

  About 20000 earthquakes are recorded per year, worldwide.

  There is no evidence that number has changed for centuries. Or millennia.

  Anyone living in the middle east in 33ad would have no clue about major earthquakes happening in other parts of the world.

  The only notable earthquake I could find in the first century was pompeii in 62ad. Maybe there was more seismic activity than usual around that time for the area?
